Currently, our region has offices of the Commonwealth’s natural resource agencies scattered in different locales. CCR envisions an agency campus that cuts costs of building use, encourages collaboration, and locates these agencies in an easily accessible area. Waynesboro can rehab existing buildings to suit the state’s needs while providing easy access to Interstate 81 and Interstate 64. Indeed, the agencies would only be 90 minutes from their headquarters in Richmond.
Our economic vision is that the co-location of agencies would bring a new professional workforce into Waynesboro. The workforce would enjoy a good quality of life with many opportunities for cultural amenities, interstate travel, low cost of living, and wonderful natural areas and activities.
